Victim Compensation Scheme

Calcutta High Court while hearing petition directed the State government to ensure disbursal of adequate funds within Six weeks and came down heavily on the SLSA for not having enough funds to provide compensation to victims as per the West Bengal Victim Compensation Scheme, 2017.

The Delhi High Court set aside the order of the District Victim Compensation Committee, rejecting the grant of interim compensation under the Victim Compensation Scheme and directed the DSLSA to reconsider the petitioner’s claim for interim compensation under the period of one week.
