The High Court of Bombay has decided to hear the petition filed by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, seeking quashing of the complaint filed against her for allegedly disrespecting the National Anthem during an event, on March 27

Mamata Banerjee won the Bhabanipur bypoll by a record margin of 58,835 votes defeating BJP candidate Priyanka Tibrewal. After the win, the West Bengal Chief Minister said, "This is my third victory from Bhabanipur. In 2011, I won the bypoll by a margin of over 54,000 votes.

The petition before the Supreme Court alleges that right after the declaration of legislative results, the Trina Mool Congress supporters started creating unrest for the simple reason that they had supported BJP in Assembly elections.

The Calcutta High Court on Friday decided that the petition filed by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, challenging the Nandigram Assembly poll result, will be heard on June 24.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today, in a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requested him to withdraw the order recalling Chief Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay to the Centre and said that the state will not be releasing Bandyopadhyay, as directed by the Centre.
