The Calcutta High Court has lifted its interim stay imposed on West Bengal government's primary school teacher recruitment drive. Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay passed this order while disposing of a petition filed by Abhijit Ghosh alleging irregularities in marking and the selection process
The Supreme Court was told that the Central government had not come up with a solution on providing rations to migrant workers who did not have ration cards. The case is from 2020 when migrant labourers were forced to walk to their villages after the nationwide lockdown without any rations.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday sought responses from the central government, West Bengal government and the Association for Protection of Democratic Rights on the report submitted by a committee setting a guideline on the valuation of trees.
