{"id":101167,"date":"2020-06-04T17:52:46","date_gmt":"2020-06-04T12:22:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.indialegallive.com\/?p=101167"},"modified":"2020-09-25T16:57:49","modified_gmt":"2020-09-25T11:27:49","slug":"centre-file-its-reply-in-sc-on-plea-seeking-separate-residential-facilities-for-doctors-treating-covid-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.indialegallive.com\/constitutional-law-news\/courts-news\/centre-file-its-reply-in-sc-on-plea-seeking-separate-residential-facilities-for-doctors-treating-covid-19\/","title":{"rendered":"Centre File Its Reply In SC On Plea Seeking Separate Residential Facilities For Doctors Treating COVID-19"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Today, the <strong>Government of India<\/strong> has filed the counter affidavit before the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indialegallive.com\/topic\/supreme-court-of-india\"><strong>Supreme Court<\/strong><\/a> on the Writ Petition filed for separate residential facilities for doctors treating <strong>COVID19 patients<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the <strong>Central Government<\/strong>\u2019s reply, it was mentioned that <em>\u201cLarge number of make-shift hospitals will have to be set upexpecting a patient surge\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was submitted by GOI before the <strong>Supreme Court <\/strong>that <em>\u201cnumber of cases of COVID\u00a0 are constantly increasing and at some point of time in near future, apart from existing hospitals , large number of temporary make-shift hospitals will have to be created in order to accommodate <strong>COVID 19 patients<\/strong> requiring admission, medical care and treatment. To successfully create an optimum infrastructure to provide best medical care to COVID patients, Centre will adequately address human resource issue for this envisaged surge capacity scenario.Hence conserving health care work force is the need of the hour in order to cater to the anticipated patient load in the hour of distress\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.indialegallive.com\/topic\/supreme-court-of-india\">Supreme Court<\/a><\/strong> three-judge bench of <strong>Justice Ashok Bhushan, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice M.R. Shah<\/strong> has given time to the petitioner to respond to the Government\u2019s reply by the next date of hearing which is June, 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The PIL was filed by Dr Arushi Jain, through Advocates\u00a0Mithu Jain, and\u00a0Arjun Syal\u00a0seeking separate residential facilities, closer to hospitals, for doctors treating patients affected by the novel Coronavirus.
