{"id":101225,"date":"2020-06-05T15:54:51","date_gmt":"2020-06-05T10:24:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.indialegallive.com\/?p=101225"},"modified":"2020-09-24T19:21:24","modified_gmt":"2020-09-24T13:51:24","slug":"centre-invites-suggestions-from-public-on-proposed-changes-to-motor-vehicle-rules","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.indialegallive.com\/top-news-of-the-day\/news\/centre-invites-suggestions-from-public-on-proposed-changes-to-motor-vehicle-rules\/","title":{"rendered":"Centre Invites Suggestions From Public On Proposed Changes To Motor Vehicle Rules"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The<strong> Ministry of Road Transport and Highways<\/strong> on Wednesday has re-invited suggestions and comments from all stake holders including general public on the proposed amendment in the Motor Vehicle Rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These rules proposed by the Ministry pertain to the registration of <strong>new vehicles, driving licences<\/strong>, and recall of old vehicles. In this respect the ministry issued two notifications on 29<sup>th<\/sup> May, 2020. The first notification covers the section 4-28 of <strong>Motor Vehicle Act<\/strong> on following aspects:-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><em>Use of Electronic forms and documents (Medical Certificate, Learners License, Surrender of DL, Renewal of DL)<\/em><\/li><li><em>Online learner\u2019s License<\/em><\/li><li><em>National Register.<\/em><\/li><li><em>Dealer point Registration.<\/em><\/li><li><em>Renewal of Registration 60 days in advance<\/em><\/li><li><em>Temporary registration for 06 months with extensions of 30 days (Body building etc).<\/em><\/li><li><em>Trade certificate &#8211; electronic<\/em><\/li><li><em>Alteration, retro fitment to vehicles and adapted vehicles.<\/em><\/li><li><em>Insurance in case of Altered vehicles.<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The other notification covers section 39-40 of the Act and includes aspects like:-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><em>Recall Policy of defective vehicles.<\/em><\/li><li><em>Procedure for Recall<\/em><\/li><li><em>procedure to detail Investigating Officer<\/em><\/li><li><em>Investigation Procedure- time bound manner (06months)<\/em><\/li><li><em>Role of Testing Agencies<\/em><\/li><li><em>Obligations of Manufacturers, Importers &amp; Retrofitters.<\/em><\/li><li><em>Accreditation of Testing agencies.<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The ministry has specified that the suggestions or comments can be sent to the Joint Secretary (Transport), Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Transport Bhavan, Parliament Street, New Delhi or on e-mail- <em>jspb-morth@gov.in<\/em>, within sixty days from the date of publication of these notifications.
