Delhi High Court rules no more extension of interim orders in civil cases, undertrials in heinous cases will have to surrender. In the case of the gang-rape of a law student, the Karnataka High Court upheld life sentence for 7 convicts, said this is no less than Nirbhaya case, recommends death penalty for gang-rape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In another case, the Karnataka High Court granted bail to the sitting MLA’s nephew whose Facebook post had sparked the Bangalore riots. The petitioner contended that he had merely forwarded the post and later withdrew the same. The Allahabad High Court has directed the SSP of Prayagraj to provide security to the gang rape victim of Phoolpur and her family. At the same time, the court has directed the SSP to monitor the investigation of the case on its own and take strict action against the negligent police officers.
