New Delhi (ILNS):<\/strong>\u00a0The Sessions court in Lalitpur district on Monday sentenced a self-styled occultist to life imprisonment in a two and-a-half-year-old case for raping a woman on the pretext of \u2018flogging\u2019 her to cure her. Over and above the life sentence on him, the court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on him.

The additional district judge (SC\/ST), Jagdish Kumar after hearing the arguments of the prosecution and defence advocates, pronounced the sentenced on the occultist, Rahul Prajapati of Talbehat police station area. The victim was a Dalit woman. The woman was raped on the night of June 7, 2018.

The victim was ill.\u00a0Rahul Prajapati took her to a lonely place near the Tekri dhaba on the pretext of treating her with his unscientific practices and then raped her. Later he was arrested and sent to jail by the Talbehat police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
