ILNS:<\/strong> The Supreme Court<\/a> on Monday dismissed a Public Interest Litigation, seeking direction for physical verification of Electronic Voting Machine using 100 percent Voter-Verified Paper Audit Trial (VVPAT) assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Bench of Chief Justice S.A. Bobde, Justice A.S. Bopanna and Justice V. Ramasubramanian said, \u201cVoting is over, we are not going to interfere in the middle of the election process.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The petition has been filed by Trinamool Congress leader Gopal Seth, seeking 100 percent verification of Electronic Voting Machine using 100 percent VVPAT, ensuring transparency in election results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Counsel appearing for Seth submitted that a 100 percent VVPAT assistance should be made, to which the Chief Justice enquired, \u201cHave you made the representation to Election Commission of India?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Counsel informed the Court that they have already made a representation to the EC and that they have appreciated it. However, the Bench, while dismissing the plea, stated, \u201cCertainly we can do, but we don\u2019t want to do.\u201d <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
