{"id":169737,"date":"2021-05-25T14:05:51","date_gmt":"2021-05-25T08:35:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.indialegallive.com\/?p=169737"},"modified":"2021-05-25T14:41:19","modified_gmt":"2021-05-25T09:11:19","slug":"e-pass-not-mandatory-for-advocates-during-curfew-delhi-high-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.indialegallive.com\/constitutional-law-news\/courts-news\/e-pass-not-mandatory-for-advocates-during-curfew-delhi-high-court\/","title":{"rendered":"E-pass not mandatory for advocates during curfew: Delhi High Court"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.indialegallive.com\/topic\/delhi-high-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Delhi High Court<\/a><\/strong> today has disposed of the plea with direction that \u201cno authority shall stop any Advocate in NCT of Delhi, if he\/she produces valid Identity Card whereby he can establish that he\/she is an Advocate.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Single Judge Bench comprising of Justice Suresh Kait has disposed of a petition praying for respondent Delhi Police to comply with the curfew order dated 19.04.2021 which has exempted Advocates from producing E-pass for travelling during the curfew period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The present petition was filed by Advocate Dharmendra Kumar who has claimed in the petition that he was harassed by the respondent because he did not possess an E-pass while travelling during the curfew.
