The Supreme Court<\/a><\/strong> has today dismissed a plea filed by Dr Sanjay Nilkanthrao Lakhe Patil seeking directions to constitute a committee to look into the locusts\u2019 invasion of farm crops while asking the government to treat his plea as a representation.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A three-judge bench led by Chief Justice N.V. Ramana, and Justices AS Bopanna & Hrishikesh Roy heard the matter through video conferencing.\u00a0The Court has recorded in its order, \u201cThe grievance is that the Union of India has to form a committee to study to prevent the locust’s invasion in India. However, a PIL has been directly filed without making representation to the government. The government can consider the representation. Plea dismissed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
