The Supreme Court<\/a> Collegium has recommended names of five additional judges of the Calcutta High Court, who should be made permanent judges of that court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of the Collegium held on April 19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The five judges who have been approved for the appointment as permanent judges are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Justice Kesang Doma Bhutia;<\/li>
  2. Justice Rabindranath Samanta;<\/li>
  3. Justice Sugato Majumdar;<\/li>
  4. Justice Bivas Pattanayak; and<\/li>
  5. Justice Ananda Kumar Mukherjee.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    As on April 1, 2022, the sanctioned strength of the Calcutta High Court is 72 judges, whereas they are functioning with 39 judges, a vacancy position of 33.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
