{"id":285013,"date":"2022-09-26T08:26:29","date_gmt":"2022-09-26T02:56:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.indialegallive.com\/?p=285013"},"modified":"2022-10-07T18:29:53","modified_gmt":"2022-10-07T12:59:53","slug":"mukul-rohtagi-declines-offer-attorney-general","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.indialegallive.com\/top-news-of-the-day\/news\/mukul-rohtagi-declines-offer-attorney-general\/","title":{"rendered":"Mukul Rohatgi turns down  Centre&#8217;s offer to be Attorney General of India"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Senior Counsel Mukul Rohatgi, who was offered the position of the Attorney General of India(AG) by the Government of India, has declined the offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mukul Rohatgi said he was not very keen and had second thoughts before finally rejecting the offer of joining the post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Till a few days back, it was widely reported that Mukul Rohatgi had accepted the position and taken the offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mukul Rohatgi was to become Attorney General after taking over charge from incumbent AG KK Venugopal whose tenure is coming to an end this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In June this year, Venugopal&#8217;s tenure was extended for a period of three months or &#8220;until further orders&#8221;.
