{"id":308820,"date":"2023-04-20T09:32:33","date_gmt":"2023-04-20T04:02:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.indialegallive.com\/?p=308820"},"modified":"2023-04-20T09:32:51","modified_gmt":"2023-04-20T04:02:51","slug":"supreme-court-collegium-rajasthan-high-court-chief-justice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.indialegallive.com\/top-story\/supreme-court-collegium-rajasthan-high-court-chief-justice\/","title":{"rendered":"Supreme Court Collegium recommends Justice Augustine George Masih as Rajasthan High Court Chief Justice\ufffc"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of Justice\u00a0Augustine George Masih, from Punjab &amp; Haryana High Court judge, as the Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The vacancy arose after the elevation of earlier Chief Justice,\u00a0Justice Pankaj Mithal from the Rajasthan High Court to the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Justice Masih held the position of senior most puisne judge of the Punjab &amp; Haryana High Court, and was appointed judge of that Court on July 10, 2008.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As per the Collegium resolution,the Punjab and Haryana Court at present has no representation among the Chief Justices of the High Courts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Supreme Court recommend the appointment after consulting judges of the top court who agreed the proposal for the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The resolution said<em> <\/em>Justice Masih\u00a0has acquired experience of dispensing justice in a High Court having jurisdiction over two States.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of Justice\u00a0Augustine George Masih, from Punjab &amp; Haryana High Court judge, as the Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court.
