The Supreme Court has disposed of a petition filed by the government of Bihar, which challenged the stay on Caste-based Census in view of the May 4 Patna High Court order that reserved its verdict on the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bench of Justice B.R. Gavai and Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra passed the orders on a petition filed by the government of Bihar against the High Court\u2019s interim order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Division Bench of the Patna High Court had passed the interim orders, while determining whether the state government was competent to conduct the survey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Apex Court disposed of the petition after the counsel appearing for both sides agreed that the matter had become infructuous since the High Court had already reserved its verdict.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
