Hearing a petition by activist Tehseen S Poonawalla against self-styled\u00a0gau rakshaks<\/em><\/a>\u00a0and related violence, the Supreme Court bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices AM Khanwilkar and DY Chandrachud\u00a0found\u00a0on Friday\u00a0(September 22) that only five states had filed compliance affidavits.<\/p>\n

At the last hearing, the court had sent notice to all the states to file compliance affidavits on the action taken in this regard.<\/p>\n

The states that have filed compliance affidavits are Karnataka<\/a>, Jharkhand<\/a>, Gujarat<\/a>, Rajasthan<\/a> and Uttar Pradesh. Maharashtra submitted that they will file by\u00a0Friday\u00a0itself.<\/p>\n

The court ordered all other states to file their affidavits by\u00a0October 13, the next date of hearing.<\/p>\n
