The Ministry of Finance had invoked some provisions of the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture Of Property) Act (SAFEMA) to seize the properties of the don.<\/p>\n<p>SAFEMA provides for forfeiture of ill-gotten properties of smugglers, foreign exchange manipulators and their kith and kin.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong><em>\u2014India Legal Bureau <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Supreme Court bench headed by Justice R K Agrawal on Friday (April 20) directed the Centre to confiscate fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim\u2019s properties.
