{"id":48040,"date":"2018-05-07T14:53:25","date_gmt":"2018-05-07T09:23:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.indialegallive.com\/?p=48040"},"modified":"2018-05-07T14:57:12","modified_gmt":"2018-05-07T09:27:12","slug":"sc-dismisses-appeal-investigation-cricket-match-fixing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.indialegallive.com\/top-news-of-the-day\/breaking-news-articles\/sc-dismisses-appeal-investigation-cricket-match-fixing\/","title":{"rendered":"SC dismisses appeal for investigation into cricket match-fixing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Supreme Court bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices A M Khanwilkar and D Y Chandrachud on Monday (May 7) dismissed a petition by Atul Kumar, who had asked the top court to look into the issue of match-fixing in cricket.<\/p>\n<p>He had claimed that there is regular fixing in cricket and this is a big racket, but the government is not taking any action.<\/p>\n<p>On the last date of hearing the court had directed Union of India to assist the court.<\/p>\n<p>Today Additional Solicitor General Maninder Singh appeared in the matter on behalf of the respondents (the government) and the petitioner appeared in person.<\/p>\n<p>The respondent lead counsel Tripathi, for the court-appointed Committee of Administrators, mentioned the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.indialegallive.com\/topic\/lodha-committee\">Lodha Committee<\/a> report.<\/p>\n<p>The court issued directions and accordingly, dismissed the matter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong><em>\u2014India Legal Bureau<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Supreme Court bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices A M Khanwilkar and D Y Chandrachud on Monday (May 7) dismissed a petition by Atul Kumar, who had asked the top court to look into the issue of match-fixing in cricket.
