The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued a circular providing a standard operating procedure for Advocates and party in persons for\u00a0 mentioning, e-fling and video conferencing, in order to contain the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), considering the lockdown declared by the Government.<\/p>\n

The Supreme Court has formulated a medium of conducting court hearings amid the outbreak of COVID-19 through video conferencing. The Court in a suo moto petition has directed all the High Courts and Subordinate courts to conduct their proceedings via video conferencing to minimise physical contact and to promote social distancing.<\/p>\n

The standard operating procedure provides for the following:-<\/p>\n

MENTIONING & E-FILING<\/strong><\/p>\n

In all matters involving extreme urgency, the Advocate-on- Record\/Party-in-person is first required to file the petition\/miscellaneous application, preferably through the e-filing mode available on the Supreme Court website, as per procedure elaborated at the link https:\/\/main.sci.gov.in\/php\/FAQ\/5_6246991526434439183.pdf. Upon completion of all the formalities, as per Rules governing such petition\/ miscellaneous application, and upon its due registration the Advocate on-Record\/Party-in-person is permitted to send separately the signed and verified mentioning-application containing a synopsis of extreme urgency not exceeding one page.<\/p>\n
