MP High Court rules that schools can charge only tuition fees during pandemic

New Delhi (ILNS): The Madhya Pradesh High Court today passed an interim order, saying that private schools in the state cannot charge any fees in addition to tuition fees during the Corona epidemic until regular schools are opened.

The division bench headed by Chief Justice (acting) Sanjay Yadav passed this order while hearing a Public Interest Litigation filed by activist Dr PG Nazpande through advocate Dinesh Upadhyay.

The petitioner insisted on controlling the fees of private schools in the Corona period.

Advocate Siddharth Radhelal Gupta, on behalf of private schools, demanded to be freed for the collection of fees.

The court issued a directive in the interest of students and parents. It clarified that in the Corona epidemic it is correct to charge tuition fees, but it would not be appropriate to harass any student during the corona period through arbitrary fees.

The Court also ordered that decision of the state government will be valid in this regard.
