Allahabad High Court wants ICMR to explain today the Covid control situation in state, across country

Prayagraj (ILNS): The Allahabad High Court will take up this afternoon a public interest litigation regarding the plight of quarantine centres and treatment facilities in hospitals in the state. It is expected that the court will hear the Indian Council of Medical Research’s (ICMR) opinion on this over video conference. The court also wants to know where Indian stands vis-à-vis vaccines.

On November 23, the bench of Justice Siddharth Varma and Justice Ajit Kumar had asked the Central Government to clarify whether corona vaccine supplements are being given to people in other countries. If so, what is the situation here with us? The Court directed the advocate of the Central Government to cooperate in direct contact with ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research) through video conferencing on this issue today.

The Court expressed its displeasure by summoning SSP Prayagraj during the hearing only if the mandatory wearing of masks was not complied with.

At the commencement of the hearing of the case, the Advocates complained that according to the list given by the District Administration about the deployment of Police during the last hearing, to ensure that the mask is compulsory, there is no Police deployment anywhere. Expressing displeasure over this, the Court summoned the SSP. The SSP present assured the Court that he would now supervise the work himself. The Court ordered the SSP to appear again today.

Lawyers said that Corona vaccine has been started in other countries. This has not happened in India yet. On this, the Court has asked the Advocate of the Central Government to contact the ICMR through the video conferencing Court.
