Allahabad HC asks UP govt to reply to PIL seeking special courts to tackle cases against human trafficking

The Allahabad High Court asked the Uttar Pradesh Government to file its reply to a PIL seeking Special Courts for the trial of lawsuits under the Prevention of Unlawful Human Trafficking Act, 1956.

The order was passed by a division bench of Chief Justice Govind Mathur and Justice Piyush Aggarwal while hearing the PIL filed by Social Organisation, Guria.

The PIL alleges human trafficking is increasing rapidly in Uttar Pradesh due to lack of courts and adequate steps have not been taken to curb it.

During the cross-examination, the Counsel for the Petitioner brought to the notice of the Court that such smuggling was in full strength even during the prohibitions of Covid-19. A study done by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime was also presented before the Court.

While giving time to the State Government to file a Counter Affidavit, the Court said, “After considering all the documents mentioned in the Petition, we consider it appropriate to call for a response from the state.”

The matter will be next heard on January 18, 2021.

  1. UNFORTUNATELY, JUDICIARIES THEMSELVES KNOW FULLY WELL THAT JUSTICE SYSTEM IS FAULTY, WHICH OVER DELAYS ANY CASES, HOWSOEVER SERIOUS CRITICAL & WORTH BEING SORTED OUT QUICKLY. FOR SETTING UP ANY SPECIAL COURTS ETC GOVTS NEED TO PROVIDE ONLY ADMINISTRATIVE NOD. HOWEVER JUDICIAL SYSTEMS MAKE.MOCKERY OF IT BY THEIR COLONIAL ATTITUDE TOWARDS PUBLIC.
