Supreme Court Collegium recommends Advocate Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav for elevation as Madhya Pradesh High Court judge

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the name of Advocate Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav for elevation as judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.

In its meeting dated September 1, the Collegium made the recommendation. If the name is approved by the Centre and following the appointment, it will increase the current strength to 30, from 29 with 13 vacancies at the Madhya Pradesh High Court.

The sanctioned strength of Madhya Pradesh High Court is 53, which includes 40 permanent Judges and 13 Additional Judges. The principal bench of this High Court is at Jabalpur with other two benches at Indore and Gwalior.

According to the list of Judges by the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, as on September 1, the Madhya Pradesh High Court currently has 29 Permanent Judges and there is no additional judge at present.
