The Delhi High Court on Monday (March 12) disposed of a plea in which it had taken a suo motu cognizance of an incident related the17-year-old girl who went missing from a Metro Station during broad daylight and had pressed for Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the safety of general public travelling every day at the metro stations in Delhi.

On Monday, the bench of Justices Vipin Sanghi and P S Teji was presented a status report by the counsel appearing for Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) apprising it that it carried a mock drill for the missing persons.

The bench said: “Status reports has been filed by DMRC for the assessment/audit of the actual implementation of SOP stating that the SOP has been tested through mock drill by it and it will do this exercise regularly. DMRC has said that from time to time the implementation of the SOP will also be monitored by it. With those directions to make regular checks on the implementation of required SOP the present petition is disposed of.”
