The three criminal law bills were cleared by the Lok Sabha on December 20 and Rajya Sabha on December 21.

The petitioner noted that the denial of reservation to women was in violation of the provisions of Punjab Civil Services (Reservation of posts for Women) Rules, 2020

The state-wide implementation of the project is expected to be completed by December 2024. 

The Kerala High Court had noted that the material on record appears to support the allegation that the complaint was filed because the complainant was aggrieved that she did not receive sufficient compensation during divorce proceedings.

The apex court has also granted the state of Gujarat a week to file its response.
