The Supreme Court directed the Delhi Police to set up an SIT to investigate violence in Patiala House Court on February 15 and February 17. It also issued notice to Union of India, and the three lawyers who were involved in the Patiala House violence following a petition filed by senior advocate Kamini Jaiswal, demanding Special Investigation Team probe into the incident.
The petition also said that there was suo moto contempt for wilful violation of court’s orders dated February 17, and for interfering with the administration of justice.
The bench of Justice Chelameswar court, meanwhile, asked why a fresh petition has been filed when the earlier PIL is being heard and monitored.
