An official Telegram channel of the High Court of Orissa has been created, to ensure ease and convenience for the Advocates and litigant members of the public in accessing Court related information through the use of Information and Communication Technology.

The BCI via the latest notification has resolved to constitute a committee to review the rules. The Committee shall consist of some senior advocates, representatives of State Bar Councils and High Court and other Bar Associations, besides five Members of Bar Council of India.

Any indecent or derogatory, defamatory or motivated, statements made in the Print, Electronic or Social Media against any Court or Judge or any member of Judiciary, by any Advocate shall be a ground for his/her suspension or disqualification, said the amended Bar Council of India rules.

The Government of Rajasthan is to ensure the protection of Advocates of the State, and the council resolved to write to the Chief Minister in this regard.

Bar association resolutions barring advocates from appearing for a particular accused violate the Constitution. Only the judiciary can declare a person guilty, that too after a just and fair trial.

A Single Judge Bench comprising of Justice Suresh Kait has disposed of a petition praying for respondent Delhi Police to comply with the curfew order dated 19.04.2021 which has exempted Advocates from producing E-pass for travelling during the curfew period.

The Delhi High Court will today hear a writ petition, seeking direction to expedite registration and vaccination of advocates below the age group of 45 years.

The Bar Council of India (BCI) on Friday requested the Chief Justice of India (CJI) and other brother judges of the Supreme Court to pass appropriate order/ directions to alleviate the sufferings of advocates, judges, their staff, and families devastated by the second wave of Covid-19 across the country.
