The Delhi High Court today issued notice on a plea challenging the election of Delhi’s health minister Satyendra Jain of AAP.

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has dismissed a contempt petition filed by an NGO, Nayee Soch Society, which had claimed that the Delhi government had not served free meals as the court had ordered. The number of people thus affected was 8 lakh, the petition claimed.

New Delhi: The Bombay High Court today rejected a petition filed by activist Sudha Bharadwaj, seeking bail on medical grounds in the Bhima Koregaon case.

Cabinet Ministers from Six States have approached the Supreme Court, seeking review of its August 17, order allowing the central government to conduct NEET-JEE exams.

The Delhi High Court has said that its five benches, on rotational basis, shall start holding physical courts from September 1, while the remaining benches shall continue to take up matters through video conferencing.

The High Court of Delhi may recommence physical hearing of matters from 1st September 2020. Even though the dates for recommencement hasn’t been finalised, the Court may sit for physical hearing twice a week.

A divisional bench of the court, comprising Chief Justice D.N. Patel and Justice Prateek Jalan, while hearing the matter through video conferencing, stated: “This seems to be a motivated PIL against the ICAI’s chief.”

Supreme Court today disposed of the petition filed by Dr Arushi Jain, seeking separate residential facilities, closer to hospitals, for doctors treating patients affected by the novel Coronavirus & better health facilities for frontline workers and granted liberty to petitioners to approach the Delhi HC.

The Supreme Court today slammed the Centre for not taking a stand on allowing moratorium on charging of interest on loans as well as interest on interest during the moratorium period declared during pandemic.

A petition has been filed in the Delhi High Court seeking direction to the state government to provide the financial assistance to advocates enrolled with the Bar Council Delhi without discrimination on the ground of residential address or voter ID.
