The Manipur High Court closed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed seeking a direction to the State authorities to establish a Blood Bank with proper blood storage in the District Hospital, Ukhrul.

The affidavit in Gauhati High Court submitted by state respondents states that the Secretary to the Government of India, Department of Health & Family Welfare had directed all States to initiate vaccination of bedridden persons and persons with disabilities or other special needs.
