A bail application of a man, accused of honour killing, was cancelled by the Supreme Court on Monday. The court has directed him to surrender.

The Court said it is a brazen case of honor killing where family members, including the deceased Jyoti's father, uncle, cousin, and her brother have all participated to put an end to a young life on account of a false sense of family pride, which they have prima facie sought to redeem through this crime.

The woman said she wants to marry her Muslim friend but her family wants to marry her off to another Hindu man. The Delhi High Court issued notice to the Delhi Government, the Commissioner of Police, and the concerned SHO. She wanted protection from her parents as she feared she maybe killed by them.
