The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued notice on a petition filed by the Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF), challenging the Bombay High Court judgment, which upheld the New Tariff Order (NTO) of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), putting a cap on the MRP of individual channels.

The Supreme Court on Friday deferred the hearing on new TRAI amendments, which put the cap on the MRP of individual channels, till August 18.

The Supreme Court will conduct hearing tomorrow on the petition filed by the Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF), challenging the Bombay High Court verdict, which had upheld the constitutionality of the amended New Tariff Order (NTO 2.0) passed by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
