A single-judge High Court bench presided over by Justice Anu Malhotra transferred the matter to the division bench headed by Chief Justice D.N. Patel after noting that the matter is in "public interest".

The Delhi High court has upheld the order of trial court for convicting a man for the commission of aggravated gang penetrative sexual assault upon a 13-year-old minor child.

The court said that despite more than 60 days after the accused was arrested in this case, the charge sheet was not filed, hence the accused is entitled to default bail.
