Allahabad High Court division bench while hearing a petition filed by Ram Pratap @ Tillu quashed the death sentence awarded to a convict in the brutal murder of six family members and observed that the prosecution has failed to prove the crime beyond doubt.
A single-judge bench of Allahabad High Court while hearing a Criminal Misc Bail Application filed by Manish observed that if bail is granted to a similarly placed accused person without any reason then on basis of such bail orders merely on the grounds of parity then the bail plea should not be allowed.
The Court held that the State has a duty to protect the life and liberty of the citizens. The petitioners as adult citizens have a right to choose their partners.
