Allahabad High Court while hearing a PIL filed by Gomti River Bank Residents directed a committee headed by the District Magistrate tosubmit a report before the Court in violation of safety standards and concerned rules and rules and regulations in schools operating in the residential areas of Lucknow.

The Petition stated that under the present system, cases from 60 Districts of UP fall under the jurisdiction of the Principal seat at Prayaraj whereas cases from only 15 districts are filed at Lucknow.
