MBBS seats

Following strong opposition from southern states, the NMC has suspended its decision to limit the number of MBBS seats to 100 per 10 lakh population in every state

A single-judge bench of Justice Jayant Nath observed that the petitioners have on completion of the debarment of two years taken no steps to seek inspection of the existing facilities to demonstrate that there are no infirmities or inadequacies in the infrastructure.

At the outset, the petitioner submitted that their Medical college was taken over and designated as dedicated COVID-19 hospital by the State Government and the medical staff was deputed to the different hospitals till 11.10.2020.
