A single-judge bench of Punjab and Haryana High Court while hearing a petition filed by Paramjit Singh set aside the order of the lower appellate Court which allowed respondent /plaintiff's application for amendment of the plaintiff, after dismissal of suit.

Married woman Sonu and her lover Sukhvir Singh had filed a petition in the High Court, seeking protection from Sonu's husband and his family members. In the petition, Sonu said that she is married to Gurjeet Singh and has three children.
