The Supreme Court of India has imposed a cost of Rs 1 lakh on a tenant and directed him to pay the rent of 11 years on the basis of market rate to the landlord within three months.

The three-judge bench of Justices Ashok Bhushan, R. Subhash Reddy and M. R. Shah heard the case and has asked the states to file their current status report as well as compliance report. The case has been slated for next hearing on Friday.

New Delhi (ILNS): A three-judge bench of Justices Ashok Bhushan, R. Subhash Reddy and M. R. Shah of the Supreme Court has allowed the demolition of four illegal religious structures on public land in Haridwar. The demolition deadline, however, has been extended to May 31, 2021.
