A single-judge bench of Allahabad High Court while hearing a criminal misc bail application filed by Vishwanath Pandey granted conditional bail to accused of raping a girl on the pretext of marriage.

Allahabad High Court while hearing a bail Application has said that Rape is not only a crime against the victim, it is crime against the society as well and is also violative of victims most cherished of fundamental rights, mainly right to life contained in Article 21 of the Constitution of India.

The Allahabad High Court has rejected the anticipatory bail application of an accused who was alleged of raping and having illicit relations with a minor daughter and her mother by threatening to blackmail by certain unsolicited video clips.

The Allahabad High Court on Wednesday termed taking the statement of the rape victim again without audio-video recording by the police investigator in connivance with the accused, when the statement of the rape victim is already recorded, as an abuse of the legal process.
