The proposal for a hike in sanctioned bench strength in view of the higher pendency in Telangana High Court was sent to the Union Minister of Law and Justice by the then CJ of High Court of Telangana on February 13, 2019 after the endorsement of the chief minister and the then Governor of Telangana.
The Court found that the affidavit of Chief Secretary, was incorrect as earlier he had stated that an applicant providing Aadhaar details is optional whereas Advocate General B.S. Prasad, on the last date of hearing, gave an undertaking that Aadhaar details will not be asked.
The High Court in Hyderabad in 2016 had dismissed a complaint filed by Ramakrishna Reddy seeking an investigation into Naidu’s alleged role in the cash-for-vote case on the ground that Reddy had no locus standi to file such an application.
The Supreme Court Collegiums is headed by Chief Justice S. A. Bobde and presided by other top-four judges of the Apex Court. The four judges are Justice N. V. Ramana, Justice Rohinton Fali Nariman, Justice Uday Umesh Lalit, and Justice Ajay Manikrao Khanwilkar.
The full bench of Chief Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan, Justice M. S. Ramachandra Rao and Justice A. Rajasheker Reddy while taking a suo-moto cognizance of the current extraordinary situations , issued the order on November 25.
