The Supreme Court today decided to hear the petition filed by Vedanta Limited on August 6, seeking directions to extend the permission period for producing oxygen at its Sterlite Copper plant, located in the port city of Thoothukudi in Tamil Nadu, which was previously allowed by the apex court
The plea in Supreme Court is against the notification dated 9.3.2005 issued from the PMO leading to the formation of the High-Level Committee under Justice Sachar and the recommendations made by it in its report submitted on 17.11.2006.
