Vinayaka Chaturthi Puja

A plea has been filed before the Supreme Court against the press release by State of Tamil Nadu by which it had disallowed the installation of Vinayaka idols and procession of the idols for immersion in sea or water bodies.

A two-judge bench of Justice M.M. Sundresh and Justice R. Hemalatha, however, made it clear that individuals permitted to immerse the statues would at best go to the water body, drop the statue and come back. There is no question of staying back.
