The Delhi High Court on Friday issued notice to Aam Aadmi Party MLA Imran Hussain in a plea claiming that Hussain is hoarding oxygen cylinders at a time when the entire capital is in crisis over the supply of oxygen.
The division bench of Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Rekha Palli noted, “If the person is taking the oxygen from the pool of the state government, then he is a culprit.”
The petition has been filed by Vedansh Anand stating, “the AAP Delhi Facebook social media handle publishes a post which said (in Hindi, translated) ‘Delhi Cabinet Minister Imran Hussain will be giving free oxygen to the people from his party office in Ballimaran, New Delhi. Anyone can get oxygen after showing doctor’s prescription.’ “
The counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted, “Strict action should be taken against the person who are hoarding oxygen.”
Hussain is the sitting MLA from Ballimaran and a Cabinet Minister in the GNCT of Delhi. The bench issued notice in the matter while directing Imran Hussain to file a reply and be present before the Court on Monday.
