Allahabad High Court directs UP Higher Education Service Commission to rectify OMR in Sanskrit Assistant Professors recruitment test

The Allahabad High Court has directed the Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Service Commission (UPHESC) to issue fresh results by rectifying the error in Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheet in the recruitment of Assistant Professors (Sanskrit) in non-government aided colleges.

A Single Bench of Justice Saumitra Dayal Singh passed this order on a petition filed by Kumari Sanju.

It has been fairly stated by the counsel for the respondent Commission, the contention advanced by the petitioner is found to be correct, however, a similar mistake has occurred in evaluation of answer sheets of other candidates and answer sheets pertaining to other subjects as well.

The Court observed that the respondent Commission is running a fine goal to the entire process for preparation of result to ensure all such mistakes are rectified at the same term, before the revised result may be issued. That exercise may take some more time. In view of such a statement made, no purpose survives to keep the petition pending.

Accordingly, the Court disposed of the petition with a direction to the respondent Commission to prepare a revised result as may include therein the correction of the mistake pointed out by the petitioner with respect to marks awarded to him for selection on the post of Assistant Professor (Sanskrit).

“Needless to add, the petitioner would be allotted marks for 64 correct responses.

“Any joining offered in the meanwhile would remain subject to the final result to be declared by the respondent Commission,” the order read.
