Bombay High Court issues notice in PIL seeking direction to conduct detailed inquiry on violation of human rights in Art performing centers

The Bombay High Court issued notice in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL)filed seeking direction to conduct detailed inquiry about the violation of human rights in Art Performing Centers situated within its jurisdiction and to take necessary steps to prevent the sexual abuse of the minor girls forced to work in such Art Performing Centers.

The PIL has further prayed:-

-The respondents may please be directed to forthwith take appropriate steps for protection of fundamental rights of the minor girls forced to work in Art Performing Centers in their respective districts.

-The respondents may please be directed to submit a proposal for cancellation of license issued to Art Performing Centers involved in sexual abuse of minor girls and human trafficking of women.

-The respondents may kindly be directed to provide just human conditions to the minor girls rescued from such Art Performing Centers.

The Division Bench of Justice Mangesh S Patil and Justice Shailesh P Brahme issued notice to the respondents while posting the matter on 21.02.2024 for further hearing.
