The Delhi High Court has been informed by the Central government about safety arrangements that have been put in place for the former BJP MP Subramanian Swamy who is a Z category protectee for ensuring his safety and security.

The Submission on the same was made by Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Sanjay Jain to the Justice Yashwant Varma, who was hearing the case.

The counsel of Swamy has also told the Court that the vacant possession of the residence will be handed over on Saturday to the conccern.

The plea in this case has been disposed by the Court after the matter was resolved.

The plea by Swamy had contending that he was not being provided security at his private residence.

A Z category protectee, Swamy had been allotted a government bungalow by the central governmnt for a fix period of 5 years in Delhi in January 2016, which had to be vacated in 2022,once the tenure was over.

Subramanian Swamy had moved to the High Court for re -allotment of the same but the plea was rejected as the time period of allotment was over by then.

The Court had to reject the plea on ground of not having sufficient data or material to show that allotment of government accommodation to Z category protectees was required.

When Swamy did not get his desired, another plea was put forward by him, which asked for assurance by the government on his security when shifted to private residence.
