Disproportionate assets case: Karnataka High Court rejects DK Shivakumar plea seeking quashing of FIR registered against him by CBI

The plea by the Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister (CM) and Congress leader DK Shivakumar to quash the first information report (FIR) registered against him by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with a disproportionate assets case was dismissed by Karnataka High Court.

The order was pronounced by Justice K Natarajan today morning. In the order the judge said that the plea filed by Shivakumar was after an inordinate delay.

The Court said that during the investigation, they could not get hold of anything that pointed towards anything which could lead to a mini trial for quashing the FIR.

The Court said clearly that the leader could approach the Court again with a plea to quash the case post the investigation.

Justice Natarajan also ordered the CBI to conclude the probe within 3 months from the date of the judgment.

Justice Nataranjan lifted the earlier interim stay of the High Court on the CBI probe was lifted by Justice Natarajan.
