The Delhi High Court on Wednesday (May 16) issued notice to Centre and Indian Air Force on a PIL alleging illegal sand mining on defence land situated at the Tilpat Range I & II on the banks of river Yamuna covered by the district Faridabad and Gautam Budh Nagar (Noida), UP.

The petitioner Ashok Kumar has alleged in the plea that he “had made several representations to various authorities including with the Prime Minister of India, who forwarded to the same to respondents; but the respondents closed the same by concocting the false reports/orders stating therein that there was no involvement in the past of the officials of IAF and the claim made by the petitioner was found to be incorrect”.
