Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud inaugurated an AYUSH Holistic Wellness Centre at the Supreme Court premises for judges and their immediate families and court staff on Thursday.
Addressing the event, the Chief Justice of India said that for him this is a satisfying moment and he has been working on this ever since he took over as CJI. He added that personally he is a proponent of Ayurveda and holistic lifestyle. Justice DY Chandrachud further recalled that he did panchkarma about a year ago and that he is looking forward to doing some panchkarma now which is the turn of the season.
Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud further said that he wakes up at 3:30 in the morning, adding that he follows a vegan diet. He stated that for the last five months, he is completely vegan. He underlined that he focuses on a holistic pattern of life which begins with what one eats and what one puts into their system.
Speaking about the centre, CJI DY Chandrachud said that the Supreme Court has more than 2000 staff members, 34 judges who carry a tremendous stress of the daily work. The CJI expressed that he thought it is important to look at a holistic pattern of living for not just the judges and their immediate families but also the staff members.
He added that through the staff they can propagate this message for the rest of the country on the benefits of this time-honoured tradition of Ayurveda. He also expressed gratitude to all the doctors at AYUSH, who have a wonderful facility at AYUSH.
Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud further stated that the facilities at the AYUSH Holistic Wellness Centre at the Supreme Court premises has been prepared very scientifically, including treatment rooms and restrooms which were consistent with the nature of treatment given to patients, He concluded that he is unveiling the centre to the Supreme Court and through it to the entire nation.
