CJI Ramana to flag pertinent issues in his farewell speech

The Chief Justice of India (CJI) NV Ramana on Wednesday said that there are many issues that he wants to flag but would like to do that only on the day of his farewell when he demits the office and gives his farewell speech.

CJI made this remark after Senior Advocate Dushyant Dave highlighted a grievance with the Supreme Court’s registry.

Dushyant Dave apprised the CJI saying “We read the brief till last night 8 pm. We had multiple conferences also. Then that matter was deleted and this case was inserted. This is incorrect and this practice of registry must be deprecated.

CJI Ramana on this said that “There are a lot of issues which I want to flag but I don’t want to observe anything before demitting the office. But I will speak about all of this in my farewell speech. So, please wait.”

The current Chief Justice of a India NV Ramana will demit office on August 26, after which Justice UU Lalit will take over as the CJI.
