Covid-19: Yellow alert in Delhi under GRAP, night curfew from today from 10 pm to 5 am

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday announced the yellow alert under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) with Covid-19 positivity rate going above 0.5 percent.

Among the key restrictions are the night curfew coming into effect from today from 10 pm to 5 am, the shutting of all educational institutions, the capping of wedding and funeral gatherings to 20 people, reducing seat occupancy in the Delhi Metro and buses to 50 percent in the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

As per GRAP, there shall be a night curfew on the movement of persons from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am throughout the NCT of Delhi. The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) issued detailed orders related to the imposition of night curfew in the Capital.

The order issued by DDMA ordered all District Magistrates, District DCPs, Zonal Deputy Commissioners / concerned authorities of Municipal Corporations / New Delhi Municipal Council / Delhi Cantonment Board and Secretary (l&P), GNCTD shall ensure that this order of alert should be disseminated through all modes of media and communication to the public and all restrictions I prohibitions should be in place with immediate effect as per the level of alert.

The order stated:

“In case any person is found violating the aforesaid instructions, the defaulting person(s) shall be proceeded against as per the provisions of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, Section 188 of IPC and other applicable laws, besides imposition of fines as per notification of Health and Family Welfare Department, GNCTD.”
