Dr Mani Kumar Sharma says Sikkimese Nepalis are Indians and not foreigners

Raising rightful objections with respect to the observation made by the Supreme Court in its recent judgment dated January 13 this year, Dr Mani Kumar Sharma has made all the efforts in all the quarters to put forward the point of view and the factual position in the State of Sikkim and the implications after such observations. He has consulted almost all the top lawyers immediately after the judgment.

When contacted by our correspondent, Dr. Sharma confidently made a statement and said, “I have taken all the steps to get the observations removed, which were uncalled for and far from the truth. I am sure that such observations are going to be removed tomorrow itself by the Supreme Court.”

UPDATE: Supreme Court deletes reference

He added, “The State of Sikkim and the Union of India were parties to the litigation. If the State would have pointed out all the facts correctly, then such observation would never have appeared in the order of the Supreme Court.”

It was only after the noteworthy efforts of Dr. Sharma that the State of Sikkim and the Union of India have also approached the Supreme Court seeking clarification in the said judgment.
